Token 19 – DSWA – German South West Africa – 25 Pfennig Werth-Marke of Hotel Kronprinz, Windhuk, c. 1900–1914

Original brass Werth-Marke (trade token) issued by the Hotel Kronprinz in Windhuk, German South West Africa.

The token bears “Hotel Kronprinz Windhuk” on one side and the denomination “25” on the reverse. Brass, approximately 22.5 mm in diameter.

The 25 Pfennig token formed part of a series of Hotel Kronprinz Werth-Marken in denominations of 10, 25, 50 and 100 Pfennig, used for private commercial purposes at the hotel. The Hotel Kronprinz was one of the established hotel businesses of Windhuk during the German colonial period.
