Original Wertmarke/trade token associated with the historic “Der Kaiserhof” hotel in Porta Westfalica-Barkhausen, Germany.

The Kaiserhof was established at the foot of the Kaiser-Wilhelm-Denkmal and opened its restaurant operation in 1891, becoming an important hotel and hospitality establishment in the area.

The token bears the inscription “DER KAISERHOF PORTA”, identifying the issuing establishment. Such privately issued tokens were used in connection with local commercial and hospitality businesses and are today of interest as historical exonumia.
